“I don’t ever want to go back outside...I just LOVE IT IN HERE!” ~Maya

After Maya’s mother lost her home, Maya and her daughter ended up in one shelter and her mother in another. We got the referral from our community partners at Housing Forward and quickly got to work!

For those of you new to our page, our 100% volunteer run organization collects gently used furniture and household items and repurposes them in formerly homeless clients homes after they leave a shelter. We take a lot of pride in our work and create spaces that we ourselves would love to live in! As you look at the before photos, keep in mind that the after photos would still be the before had we not been there.

Design Leads - Gina Caruso Sineni, Kristen Williams Pisani and Kathy Robbins met with our client and found out that she has a 2 year degree and will be finishing her bachelors in the future. She also used her time wisely during the pandemic to self teach (via YouTube-the PATIENCE!!!) how to sew. Look for a post soon to help her grow her new small business!

We would also like to thank volunteers Jill Davidson Robinson, Sabrina Vizioli, Dee Hanley Bauer and Chris Pasiewicz Minasian for giving up your time to create this beautiful home!
