#MoveInDay #98
Today we helped a very deserving foster mom give her foster kids the bedrooms of their dreams! Both kids are on the autism spectrum and have special needs. This incredible mom was feeling stressed about being able to provide them with a safe, fun and stimulating place to sleep during these difficult times. They both love color and needed beds, dressers and desks for remote learning. Thanks to all the amazing H2H donors, we were able to furnish and personalize their rooms for them! Both kids were speechless and their reactions to their new spaces were priceless!!! We wish we could share, but we never exploit our clients and only post their pictures, videos etc... if they ask us to do it.
You will notice the absence of our usual accessories — that was intentional we specifically left the book shelf and desks bare because the kids have things they wanted to put there. They don’t like change so they wanted the comforts of their own stuff around.
Now the “thank you’s” - Design Leads Carla Marinaccio Williams and Margaret Facchini did a remarkable job learning about our clients needs and delivering on exactly that!
Volunteers Meghan O’Connell Haddad, Ginny Jackson, Leah Cavanagh (niece of Margaret), Richard Ristau and son, Tommy for driving the truck and doing all of the heavy lifting!
Thank you to our friend Katrina (sister of a past client and former foster child) for referring this client.
