#MoveInDay #111
Today we were able to create a home for a formerly homeless U.S. Navy Veteran who gave up 12 years of his life to serve our country. It was an honor and a privilege to be able to provide this small token of our appreciation to someone who deserves so much more for sacrificing himself for our freedoms!
To all who contributed to our GoFundMe a big huge thank you, the only reason we were able to make this happen as fast as we did is because we not only met our goal but went beyond and will be able to add 2 MORE VETERANS before August!
To our incredible designers Kathy Robbins, Roxanne Wendel Lostroscio and Marilyn Cahill who worked so hard pulling furniture and household items from our warehouse and purchasing new items in order to make this happen! I continue to marvel at your energy and passion for our organization and love and respect for your clients!
We want to thank the following volunteers for giving up your Saturday morning to help this deserving veteran: Steve Goodwin and Tony Burns our heavy lifters, Meghan Cahill and daughter, Marin, Meghan O'Connell Haddad and daughter Maggie, Grace Bock, Denise Kurdziel Holder, Helen Lindahl and Gabriella Whitney
A big thank you to Jim Pisani for getting us connected with Newell Brands, the gift that keeps on giving!
None of this would happen without your support, so please consider us as your charity of choice this year. We have reduced the rate of recidivism from 50% returning to shelters 6 months after leaving (IL HUD data) to 1% of H2H clients returning within 4 years.
